The presence of several lakes in and around has earned Udaipur the moniker of “City of Lakes”.

Cut to the present. Udaipur is a bustling city of around seven lakhs people. The best time to visit Udaipur is from November to March. The maximum temperature in December – January hovers around 20 degrees and it can rise up to 35 degrees in March. The minimum temperature seldom drops below five degrees even in December, making it pleasant weather for outdoor excursions. However, the peak tourist season along with the wedding season means that prices will be higher around this time. You can also expect considerable fog in the last week of December and the first week of January. If you are a photography enthusiast, the fog can play spoilsport with your zeal to capture great photographs of iconic scenes.

Summer is really harsh here. The mercury breaches 45 degrees with considerable ease. The second best season to visit Udaipur is in August and September, when monsoon has taken hold of the region.
